F.A.Q.
The mission of Frankenmuth Bible Church is to glorify God in community. Our vision is to see people connected, lives changed, and the church multiplied.Multiply is an opportunity for us to take a significant step toward that vision together by prayerfully and generously investing in the multiplication of our church into new communities.
Multiply is a two-year generosity initiative designed to position FBC to multiply into new locations.Through the campaign, we are seeking to eliminate our remaining mortgage debt and provide the resources necessary to prepare for and launch our first new campus. But this campaign is about more than reaching a financial goal. It is an opportunity for us to grow in faith, generosity, and dependence on God as we take this step together.
God has continued to grow the reach of FBC, with people traveling to Frankenmuth each week from communities throughout our region. As we have prayed about the future, we believe God is giving us an opportunity not simply to continue bringing people to Frankenmuth, but to bring the ministry of our church closer to where people already live.We believe this is an important season to prepare financially, develop leaders, mobilize our church, and take intentional steps toward multiplication.
Our current facility has significant limitations, and expanding it would be extremely costly.More importantly, we believe multiplication gives us an opportunity to extend the reach of the gospel into the communities where many of our people already live.Rather than continuing to draw everyone toward one location, we want to create opportunities to reach people closer to home.Multiplication may also help relieve some of the space pressure at our Main Street Campus, but increased capacity is not the primary reason we are pursuing it. Our primary goal is to expand the reach of the gospel.
Our Worship Center has approximately 500 seats.Because of room layout, accessibility, families sitting together, and the space needed to comfortably welcome guests, the practical capacity of a service is lower than the total number of physical seats.
We are currently averaging well over 1,300 people each Sunday, with many traveling to Frankenmuth from communities throughout our region. That regional reach is one of the reasons we believe multiplication represents such an important opportunity for the future.
Over the past year, we have held launch site gatherings in four different regions and identified several areas of interest for a future campus. At this point, the Birch Run / Clio region has become our primary area of focus as we consider where to begin. We already have a strong core of people from this area, and we believe it may provide a strong foundation for our first campus. No final location has been determined, and we will continue prayerfully evaluating the opportunities in front of us before making that decision.
We are evaluating potential locations based on a variety of factors, including where people from FBC already live, the strength of a potential launch team, population and community needs, proximity to our Main Street Campus, available facilities, financial considerations, and opportunities for ministry. Our launch site gatherings have also helped us better understand the interest and potential in different areas.Ultimately, we want to identify the location that gives us the strongest opportunity to establish a healthy, sustainable campus and reach people for Christ.
Our desire is to replicate the kind of church experience people have come to know and love in Frankenmuth while allowing each campus to develop meaningful ministry within its own community.A new campus would include a local staff team, a Campus Pastor who preaches live, live worship, kids ministry, and opportunities to connect, grow, and serve. Some ministry and administrative functions may continue to be supported centrally by FBC so that each campus can remain focused on ministry within its community.
Yes.Each campus will have live preaching from a pastor who knows and serves that community, while generally teaching through the same sermon series and biblical text as the rest of FBC.We believe having a local pastor who regularly teaches, shepherds, and leads the campus will be an important part of establishing a healthy church community.
Yes. Our goal is to retain the same overall approach, biblical priorities, ministry philosophy, and welcoming environment people have come to know at FBC.At the same time, each campus will have opportunities to develop relationships, ministries, and rhythms that reflect the particular community it serves.
Our goal is to launch approximately 12–18 months after the campaign, or as soon as the necessary pieces are in place.Timing will depend on several factors, including determining the right location and facility, preparing a Campus Pastor, forming a strong launch team, and being financially ready. We want to move forward with urgency while also taking the time necessary to launch well.
Several important pieces need to come together. We need to identify the right community and facility, prepare a Campus Pastor and ministry team, recruit a strong launch team, reduce or eliminate our existing mortgage debt, and have the financial resources necessary to launch and sustain the new campus.Rather than allowing a specific date to drive the process, we want to launch when these key pieces are in place.
No.Some people may feel led to join the launch team and help establish the new campus, while others will remain and continue serving at our Main Street Campus. Both are essential. As people are sent out, new opportunities to serve and lead will also emerge at Main Street.Wherever you are, everyone has a part to play in the ministry of our church.
No.Our vision is larger than one location. We believe God may be leading us toward multiplication in multiple communities throughout our region. The first campus would simply be the beginning of that journey. We want to establish a healthy and sustainable model that could allow FBC to continue multiplying into additional communities in the future.
We believe multiplication can actually strengthen community. As campuses develop within the communities where people already live, there will be greater opportunities for relationships to form locally and for people to be known, connected, cared for, and mobilized for ministry.Although we may gather in different locations, we will continue sharing the same mission, vision, values, leadership, and commitment to the gospel.
There may be adjustments as people are sent, leaders are developed, and resources are invested in a new campus. However, the goal of multiplication is not to reduce ministry but to multiply ministry. We believe this will create new opportunities for people to lead, serve, grow, and use their gifts at both our Main Street Campus and future campuses.
As a group of people is sent to help establish a new campus, we anticipate that it may create additional space at Main Street. That could provide a less crowded environment and create room to continue welcoming new people. However, relieving crowding is not the primary goal of multiplication. Our greater desire is to mobilize our church to reach people for Christ in communities throughout our region.
Over the two-year campaign, we are seeking to give approximately $2 million above and beyond regular giving.
Approximately $1.2 million will be used to eliminate our remaining mortgage debt, and approximately $800,000 will be invested in preparing for and launching our first new campus.Launch costs may include facility preparation, technology, furnishings, signage, ministry equipment, staffing needs, and other start-up expenses.
Paying off debt is not the goal of Multiply. Multiplication is the goal.We currently direct approximately $200,000 each year toward our mortgage. Eliminating that debt frees those resources to support the ongoing ministry and operating costs of a new campus. With a successful campaign, we have the opportunity to trade our debt for a new campus.
We originally borrowed approximately $2.55 million for our Main Street Campus.Through regular mortgage payments and the generosity of our church, that balance has been reduced to approximately $1.2 million. We currently direct approximately $200,000 each year toward the mortgage. Eliminating that obligation would allow those resources to be redirected toward multiplication and the ongoing ministry needs of a new campus.
Our annual ministry budget is approximately $1.7 million. Our regular budget supports the ongoing ministries, staff, facilities, missions, and operations of FBC. Multiply is separate from that regular ministry budget.
Yes.In 2018, FBC launched the Beyond Campaign as our church took a significant step of faith toward a future facility. At the time, we did not know exactly where that step would lead. Through the generosity of our church, more than $1 million was pledged, ultimately helping position FBC to purchase and renovate our current Main Street Campus.Multiply represents another opportunity to take a bold step of faith toward what we believe God may have next for our church.
Yes.Our regular giving sustains the ongoing ministry of FBC. Multiply is a special two-year commitment above and beyond regular giving for this specific season and purpose.Your Multiply commitment should reflect what you prayerfully plan to give beyond your normal giving.
Multiply is a two-year generosity initiative, beginning in December 2026 and concluding in November 2028.Commitments can be fulfilled at any point throughout that two-year period.
Our initial Commitment Sunday is November 8, 2026.However, Multiply will continue for two years, and people who begin attending FBC or decide to participate later in the campaign will still have opportunities to join us.
No.Some people may choose to give weekly or monthly, while others may give quarterly, annually, or through one or more larger gifts. There is flexibility in how and when contributions are made during the two-year campaign.
Yes.One-time gifts are welcomed and count toward the overall Multiply Campaign. We also encourage everyone to prayerfully consider what generosity might look like for them throughout the full two-year campaign.
Yes.There may be opportunities to give appreciated assets, securities, property, or other non-cash gifts. If you would like to explore one of these options, please contact the church office so we can help you determine the appropriate next steps.
Every gift matters. This campaign is not about equal giving, but about each person prayerfully considering what faithful and sacrificial generosity looks like for them. Some will be able to give more than others. The goal is not comparison. Our desire is broad participation as we take this step of faith together.
Our desire is no.The purpose of the campaign is to eliminate our existing debt and provide the resources necessary to launch a new campus without taking on additional debt.We believe moving into multiplication from a position of financial strength will give a new campus the healthiest possible foundation.
The funds raised will still be applied toward reducing our mortgage debt and moving the vision forward.Falling short could affect the timing of the campus launch or require us to adjust how quickly certain pieces of the plan are implemented, but it would not change our commitment to multiplication.
Additional funds would give us greater flexibility to support the new campus, respond to developing needs, and strengthen its long-term sustainability. While our current goal is based on what we believe will be needed to eliminate the mortgage and prepare for our first campus, actual costs and opportunities will continue to develop as plans become more specific.Additional resources would position us to respond wisely to those opportunities and continue moving the vision of multiplication forward.
The Multiply Campaign will be overseen by FBC’s Finance Team and Elder Team.Funds will be managed according to the purposes of the campaign, and regular updates will be provided to the church throughout the process so our congregation can remain informed about giving, progress, and next steps.
Multiply is much bigger than a financial campaign. We are asking our entire church to pray, participate, give, and be willing to go.For some, that may eventually mean becoming part of a launch team. For others, it may mean stepping into new opportunities to serve or lead at Main Street as others are sent. For all of us, it means asking God how He wants to use us as we seek to expand the reach of the gospel together.
